“Content is the reason ‘search’ began in the first place” – Lee Odden, TopRank Marketing
She was 20, pursuing Graduation in English Literature and about to quit searching freelance writing opportunities when a newspaper advertisement caught her attention. An established author of children’s books, Gratian Vas, required a researcher to gather material on children stories around the world. Two days and a 2-hour meeting later, she had her first assignment.
In the same year, 2008, the exponentially expanding Internet world gave her the first ‘online’ writing assignment in the form of Creative Lipi. The ball started rolling in the right direction. After graduation, she enrolled for the Master’s’ degree in English Literature and continued to learn the freelancing business – improving skills, finding the right clients, managing work – personal life balance and handling productivity.
The next 3 years were mostly ghostwriting, until she realised her work was getting published on authority sites in the name of other people and in parallel, she stumbled on the world of blogging. It was another life changing moment to realise that survival depended on brand / authority building, that anonymity does not lead anywhere. SocialVani, her first blog from 2011, was a step in that direction.
After ruling the blogging world a while, gears shifted again and in 2013, the foundations of Esmee Network were laid.
These days, her time is distributed between company management, speaking at seminars, workshops and writing. She is also the Payoneer (India) Brand Ambassador (2015 – 2017).
Columns & Editorial Publications
In the year of 1999, Rahul Rakesh published his first story in Orbit magazine, beginning professional/fictional writing from the 3rd grade. Things took a different course for the next 14 years.
Being a staunch believer of personal freedom and hard-core business organizational techniques, Rahul has always pursued what he felt was best. After a lot of mistakes, soul searching, academic courses and a drop out from engineering, it was time to go back to the roots.
He started writing on HubPages from his rented place in Dehradun. Within 2 years he got a substantial readership, recognition and started earning passively from it. It was then that he first had an experience with Internet based business models. He was also pursuing courses in stats and a BBA, which would help him later in bagging a large clientele.
Rahul’s real journey started as a small time freelancer after struggling in Delhi for more than a year, on Truelancer who quickly jumped the rolls based on high quality and a staggering level of professionalism. Soon, his business began to expand and collaborations with Chitraparna began to happen. This led to more good work, excellent feedback and underlying realization of possible partnership and business chemistry.
In January 2016, Rahul joined Esmee Network as a co-founder. These days, he is a distinguished content creator and consultant, speaks and mentors newbie freelancers at events and workshops and is engrossed in managing company operations and planning future courses of action with Chitraparna.
