“Mam, it is due to Payoneer that I could step foot inside a five-star hotel” said a guy to Sanjukta, a colleague from Payoneer and a good friend, during the first step of the journey, in Pune. There was a middle-aged guy I met who spent the better part of his life as a typist and wanted to transition into a ‘freelance’ typist to supplement his income. There was a hapless mother who brought her engineering studying son in one of the forums with the intention to broaden his knowledge and outlook towards life.
Perhaps the reason why Payoneer does all these Forums is to build a brand presence in India but interestingly, the initiative touches the life of countless people in varied ways. It’s like a rainbow, sprinkling colours of different hues on everyone.
Being an integral part of the event which we collectively called Payoneer Roadshow essentially became a journey towards personal and professional growth.
The days between 1 November and 18 December 2015 were a rollercoaster ride. With endless preparations, countless calls and paperwork, I realised that work is all about people management. It was amazing to single-handedly manage and execute the events.
It was a time to prove one’s own calibre to no one else, but yourself. In the end, how you see yourself in your eyes matters the most than anything else.
As the whole Payoneer team was celebrating success on 18th Dec night, I stood at the silent rooftop pool deck nodding a hearty cheers to my soul, looking at the wide expanse of the Hyderabad city, visualising the milestones to achieve.
The Payoneer Roadshow will always be a turning point of my life.
There are times in life when you stand alone.
I stood; I succeeded.
