She was 20, pursuing Graduation in English Literature and about to quit searching freelance writing opportunities when a newspaper advertisement caught her attention. An established author of children’s books, Gratian Vas, required a researcher to gather material on children stories around the world. Two days and a 2-hour meeting later, she had her first assignment.
In the same year, 2008, the exponentially expanding Internet world gave her the first ‘online’ writing assignment through an agency, Creative Lipi. The ball started rolling in the right direction. After graduation, she enrolled for the Masters’ degree in English Literature and continued to learn the freelancing business – improving skills, finding the right clients, managing work-personal life balance and handling productivity.
The next 3 years were mostly ghostwriting until she realized her work was getting published on authority sites in the name of other people and in parallel, she stumbled on the world of blogging. It was another life-changing moment to realize that survival depended on brand/authority building, that anonymity does not lead anywhere. SocialVani, her first blog from 2011, was a step in that direction.
After ruling the blogging world a while, gears shifted again and in 2013, the foundations of Esmee Network were laid.
These days, her time is distributed between ideating company growth strategy and writing. She is also the Payoneer (India) Brand Ambassador (2015 – 2017).
